Desiree Peralejo

 

Started her dance training with Felicitas Radiac at the St. Theresa's College, Q.C. Her passion and love for dance has led her to pursue a career in teaching classical ballet.

 

Desiree is a graduate of the Intensive Training Program at Canada's National Ballet School (Toronto), which trains only the finest dance educators and performers in North America. The intensive program at NBS provided Desiree to concentrate her studies with well-known and respected teachers such as Anuschka Roes, Teresa Randall, Rosalie Brake, Carina Bomers, Glenn Gilmour+, Beverly Miller+, Pat Miner, and Grant Horley among others.

 

Through her training at NBS, Desiree has gained her international teaching accreditations with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (I.S.T.D.) National Branch, Royal Academy of Dance (RAD RTS), and Cecchetti Ballet Society of Canada (Associate).

 

Desiree also holds a Diploma in Creative and Performing Music Arts in Dance from the University of the Philippines where she was mentored by Professor Emeritus Basilio Esteban Villaruz, and Ms. Sonia Domingo. She has earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Honours in Culturual Studies from York University, Toronto. She then completed her Master of Arts degree in Art History at the University of the Philippines, and currently finishing her PhD in Music Studies at the same university. 

 

Desiree is the founder of Cecchetti Ballet Center Philippines and organizer for the Cecchetti Ballet Australia-Philippines examinations. She holds a Licentiate status with the Cecchetti International Classical Ballet -Cecchetti Ballet Australia and currently training at the National Ballet Institute and Cecchetti Institute with Ms. Pamela Moore, Diploma Fellow, notable coach and examiner of the Cecchetti Council of America. 

 

Desiree is also a Senior Lecturer at the Dance Program at the College of Music, University of the Philippines.
